ABOUT
RETSEL MIL PUBLICATIONS

Started in 2002 by Lester Lim, Retsel Mil Publications aims to provide a platform for local and regional wind band composers to stretch their music-writing wings. As wind band music education flourished in Singapore as a co-curricular activity, our pioneer batch of composers finally evolved from our pool of wind band music enthusiasts. This is wonderful news because it not only shows that the local band music scene is growing up, but that the love for music is being passed on to the next generation, and it is burning stronger than ever.

Setting up a local wind music-publishing house is a crucial turning point in Singapore’s wind band industry because it gently nudges fledgling composers towards realising their potential. Besides publishing original arrangements, Retsel Mil Publications also gives aspiring wind music composers opportunities to hone their art through writing wind band arrangements of mainstream songs that have gained popularity locally and in the region.

We believe that wind music should entertain the masses and not be restricted as highbrow entertainment. Paying homage to our years growing up in the heartlands, we at Retsel Mil Publications hope to expand the wind music repertoire available with Asian folk songs, pop evergreens, and original local and regional arrangements.

Retsel Mil Publications strives to continually push boundaries by supporting local and regional wind band industry growth, and to bring to the audience a diversified catalogue that caters to our unique music culture.

Music Playground is the premier distributor and marketing agent for Retsel Mil Publications.
